CORPORATE LAWYER JOB DESCRIPTION                                                           

SunEast Development LLC, a major developer of utility-scale solar PV projects in the eastern U.S., seeks a Corporate Attorney based out of the West Chester, PA office. As the Corporate Attorney, you will be able to join a growing and motivated team while being responsible for providing legal support on commercial, transactional, and general compliance matters.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead all corporate legal matters, formation and management of legal entities, regulatory filings, etc.

  • Drafting and critical review of real estate option/purchase and sale agreements, right of way agreements, interconnection agreements, permits, third party engagement letters, non-disclosure agreements, and other agreements related to the Company’s solar projects

  • Provide legal support and direction to development team, engineers and other project staff

  • Oversee legal aspects of project development

  • Advise management on strategic issues and corporate policies and procedures

  • Synchronize legal and business terms across various agreements in a coordinated manner

  • Identify risks and propose alternative strategies in order to mitigate risks while accomplishing the preferred path forward for the project if possible

Job Qualifications and Key Skills:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a legal practice or in-house legal department; 5 years experience on real estate matters

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

  • Licensure to practice law in at least one state

  • Experience negotiating and drafting commercial agreements and contracts

  • Experience working independently and cross-functionally

  • Ability and willingness to timely meet fluid and changing priorities

  • Experience taking on complex projects

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team-oriented perspective

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

  • Smart, decisive, organized, methodical, and biased toward action

  • Demonstrated flexibility and organizational skills to manage numerous and sometimes competing responsibilities of varying urgency within a fast-paced work environment

  • Strong experience with common business software tools, such as Microsoft Office
