SunEast Announces the Acquisition of Five Projects Totaling 105 MW-ac in Upstate New York

June 28, 2018  -- SunEast Development announced today the closing of the acquisition of a portfolio of five mid-stage solar development projects totaling 105 MW-ac of capacity located in upstate New York. SunEast originated the projects and has managed the development activities of the 5-project portfolio for the previous project owner since the first quarter of 2016.

The projects are located in the State of New York, in Herkimer, Oneida, Cayuga, and Onondaga Counties. To help New York achieve its Clean Energy Standard requirement that 50% of the State’s electricity come from renewable energy sources by 2030, the Projects are participating in the Renewable Energy Standard Request for Proposals contract solicitation process managed by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority which is currently underway.

“The acquisition of this portfolio is the first step in our strategy to expand SunEast’s focus from a solar development service provider to a leading developer, owner and operator of utility-scale solar projects” said Tom Swank, President of SunEast. “We look forward to continuing to develop clean, affordable, renewable solar energy to benefit the State of New York and its residents”.
