Host a Project

SunEast projects provide you with the opportunity to earn income from your land and provide additional financial security for your family for years to come, without negatively impacting your land or the environment.

SunEast works with landowners to build state-of-the-art, safe and environmentally sound solar projects. By dedicating your land to the development of a solar facility, you can make a larger and more sustainable contribution to both your bottom line and your community.

SunEast focuses its development locally in the eastern United States, where high energy rates, progressive state policy, and an impending power generation capacity shortfall make for favorable renewable energy development.

Landowners
  • How much land is needed to build a solar facility?
Most projects we are developing require a minimum of 100 acres.
  • How will my land be developed?
The land development process is simple: You enter into an option agreement for the development of a new state-of-the-art solar facility In return, you receive option payments while we acquire permits and complete engineering The project is designed to code and ensures adherence to safety standards We obtain the necessary permits to build the project; during this time you are free to continue using your land We maintain the panels for the lifespan of the project, which is a term of up to 40 years
  • How long does it take to build a solar facility?
The time from signing the option agreement until the facility is under construction is typically 30 months, but may take as long as 48 months based on local considerations. Depending on the size of the project, the time required for construction is generally 6 to 12 months.
  • What happens at the end of the solar facility's lifespan?
Funds are set aside to ensure the solar facility is fully removed at the end of its useful life. The land is returned to its previous condition and ready for agricultural use or however you wish.
  • Are there any impacts to neighbors?
Solar facilities don't generate onsite pollutants, make noise, and there is no increase in local traffic after construction is completed. The land retains most of its natural low lying vegetation and the solar panels have a low profile which can be buffered with vegetation when necessary.
  • What are the biggest benefits to using my land for solar?
You will have a reliable long-term revenue stream, without the expenses associated with typical farming operations Reduced tax liability; the solar facility pays the property taxes on the portion of land that is leased The land remains fallow for more than 20 years and is well prepared to return to farming in the future Enhanced long-term soil health from deep rooted vegetation, which adds nutrients and improves soil quality Economic opportunity for local communities
